- This set was in honor of the dedication / renaming of the post office on April 15, 1942 from Hollywood, W. VA to MacArthur, W. VA.
- The US Post Office Department honored this event by a special cancel of "FIRST DAY COVER" which for years has confused stamp collector into thinking that it was a First Day of Issue cancellation for the stamp on the envelope.
- These covers have had their addressed erased and can still be seen lightly on the envelopes.
- Each envelope has a filler card and the flaps are sealed.
- ARE IN GOOD, ADDRESS ERASED CONDITION.
